Oh yeah.
November 20, 2001
Oh yeah. I completely forgot to mention to that I went to see Harry Potter this weekend. It was definitely a good time. Here's a few thoughts I had after walking out of the theatre.
1. Read the book first. One of the great things about the book is JK Rowling's attention to detail. You are completely immersed in the world of Mr. Potter. The film does not replicate this completely. There are a lot of things that could have been extrapolated in the film, for instance the wand scene. In the book they went through about 100 wands, which could provide for some amusement, while the movie does three and he moves on. The book has depth you can't replicate on screen.
2. For the amount of money spent on this picture it skimped out on some CGI stuff. The faces were just alright and they cloaked a lot of things they could have cone with CG. Not a big complaint, but worth noting.
3. I thought the acting was awesome. Harry, Ron and Hermione were great and so were all the support characters. I hope they can keep them all and get the movies done before these kids get too old.
4. I will see it again. Once all the hype dies down a bit I'll be out seeing it again.
So read the books and then go see this movie. You won't regret it.
