French Kicks: One Time Bells
MAY 15, 2002
This is not your father's French Kicks. As the preceding tagling attempts to suggest, the new album is not nearly as rocking Young Lawyer. Instead of an onslaught of sound, we have a more organized effort focusing on the entire song. Less angst, more thought, less rock, more jangle, and the essence remains.
Personally, I'm a fan of the new French Kicks. I think the album works well together and some songs like "Down Now," "One Time Bells," and "Trying Whining" are especially good. If you liked the old French Kicks, then at least try a few of the songs out. Come on, please?
