Let's use this post as a place to leave suggestions for the next year. I'm fairly sure all the regulars have suggested a film at this point, so a groupthink should do the trick. Oh, and it'd be fun to get some fresh blood involved. If you know of anyone who might want to come, lemme know and I'll throw them on the mailing list.
Anyway, yay for us! Happy birthday!

kenneth mars (who played the hair tossing plagiarist Hugh Simon) primarily does voiceover work. including for: the various Land Before Time cartoons, something called Teddy Bears' Picnic, The Jetsons, and as the voice of Triton in The Little Mermaid!
We were also curious about the actor who played Judge Maxwell, Liam Dunn. Karen suspected he was a washed-up star getting his last hurrah. Good guess, but nope. It turns out the only movie had done before this was Catch-22, and that was a small role. He is most remembered for his role as Rev. Johnson in Blazing Saddles.
Oh, and since I loved Frederick Larrabee, played by Austin Pendleton, I thought I'd show you that he's still quite alive and quite busy. His newest project is Dirty Work, which has no relation to the hilarious film starring Norm McDonald. Oh, and he was in Christmas with the Kranks.
Any other good info on the other players?

People liked it. Leave comments about it if you wanna talk about it at all.
]]>The first thing I found was that Juliet is now Anne Perry, a famous novelist. According to Wikipedia, "After serving several years in prison in New Zealand, Juliet was released. She returned to England, where she became a flight attendant. She eventually settled in the United States, where she joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She later settled in Scotland." Way to make a life for yourself.
Pauline Parker became Hilary Nathan, and runs a children's riding school. That website, whatever it is, explained, "Pauline Parker is now running a children's riding school at Hoo, near Rochester, Kent, under the name of Hilary Nathan. She studied at Auckland University, graduating with a BA before training as a librarian and moving to Britain in 1965. She settled in Kent, retrained as a teacher, and taught mentally handicapped children at Abbey Court special school in Strood until her retirement three years ago, by which time she had become deputy headmistress."
Thank you internet, for updating us on these girls' lives. Another interesting tidbit is that Kate Winslet is now a famous actor. Honest!
]]>Candy is erotic satire, apparently. It was adopted from Terry Southern's novel, which is based on Voltaire's Candide. The book was a much greater success than the film, which is fine by me as I prefer my erotic satire to be accompanied by a thumpin' soundtrack. And now, here are the deets.

]]>The general consensus on the movie seemed to be that it was fun, but shlock. I'd have to agree. If you love musicals and you love camp, then this is perfect, but Bye Bye Birdie is definitely not an amazing piece of cinema. If you're a group of teenage girls who can't stand Lindsay Lohan or Princess Diaries 2: The Royal Engagement, then you should see this film.
Everyone needs a little shlock and Bye Bye Birdie is definitely good shlock.
