Anime, or Japanese animation, is the name of the game this week. Our dearest
Fiona chose this one and I trust her taste, especially since my knowledge of
anime is weak, at best. Have you guys heard of Akira? It's pretty underground,
apparently. Anyway, if you want to give anime a shot or if you like huge,
animated pupils then I'll see you on Friday.

a few days later but i really still don't get this movie and honestly, i've been trying to figure it out. well, actually when i say "figuring" i mean i've been telling people "i saw the weirdest anime movie this weekend! it's about a metaphysical boarding school where boys and girls are deulists deuling for the hand of the rose bride. and then there are lesbians and incest and princes and one of the girls turns into a huge pink, phallic car and they race to the other world." and then they just pat me on the head like i'm crazy. see what you've done to me fiona! do you see!

(by the way i think we should all get little rings with roses on them and then tell people we wear the mark of the rose. that'd be cool.)

Actually that would be super cool. Then the mark of the rose could be the official symbol of Cinema Ahh*some!
