      <title>Top 10 Things I&apos;ll Miss</title>
      <link>http://www.capndesign.com/archives/2002/07/top_10_things_ill_miss.php</link>
<description>These are the things I will miss about Madison and college, aside from my friends, which is an obvious choice.

The UnionI have spent more time here than anywhere else in Madison. This listing includes the music committe, Emmie, the Terrace and all the other great things the Union offers. Cannot be replaced.

Living in LimboNothing beats having minimal responsibility while still living away from home and having a good time. I understand the &quot;best 4 years of your life&quot; comments, especially as I&apos;m looknig for jobs now.

B-Side RecordsEasily my favorite record store in the midwest. It&apos;s not big, but the selection is amazing.

446 PartiesGranted, it&apos;s been a while since these have been possible, but they are some of my favorite party memories from college. Way to go guys.

Constantly LearningEven if I only did my homework sparingly, I did learn a lot here. Unless grad school is in the cards, this is was my last opportunity to focus on learning.

Glass Nickel PizzaMy favorite pizza ever. It&apos;s all about the crust and amount of cheese. I will miss you dearly.

Madison&apos;s LandscapeMadison is beautiful. Do I need to give more of an explanation?

HalloweenI love the insanity and it provided a great medium for costumes of yore.

Kickball LeagueI will miss these types of things in Madison. I think it&apos;s awesome that we had six teams of people playing kickball. I hope to carry on the league elsewhere.

Cheap ThingsOne thing that&apos;s great about college is cheap movies, software, airfare, sometimes meals and various other promotions. Thankfully, I am not throwing away my student id for a little while.

What will you miss?</description>

      <description>

Wet Hot American SummerCertainly the funniest movie from last summer. If you liked The State and/or you&apos;re human, you&apos;ll love this.

&quot;&gt;Alex Gopher videoThis video is for his song, &quot; The Child&quot; and the whole video is done with typography. It is amazing. Jenny, this is for you.

Fear of PopThis is Ben Folds&apos; side project from the BFF days. I still love it.

WagamamaThe best restaurant in the UK. A hip, Japanese-style noodle house with good cheap food = unbeatable.

Eternal DarknessThe best new videogame for Gamecube. After playing for an hour or so I was sincerely frightened to enter my laundry room. Tooooooo dark.

JukeboxesIt&apos;s like going DJing with another DJs records. A challenge but the success is always sweeter, usually in the form of a brodeo getting down to J-Lo.

Delta ThrivesA phenomenal graphic story drawn with CG tools that is a pleasure to look at. Like nothing I&apos;ve seen before. (Warning/Enticement: There is digital nudity)

NYCNew York City will be my new home in just over a month and I think it deserves a top ten nod for that reason. If I can make it there, I&apos;ll make it anywhere. Note to self: copyright that phrase.

Asparagus PotSpecially designed to cook asparagus by boiling the bottoms and steaming the top, this thing rules. Also good for brocolini. Yum.

Wavebird ControllerI know, two spots go to nintendo, but it is warranted. This controller makes playing from the couch so much easier. Watch out though, throwing the controller when angry is 3.5x as dangerous.

South KoreaNot only do you help us Americans, but you provide highly entertaining upsets. Thanks.

76&#176;I think this is the perfect temperature, for summer at least. Get on that one Ma Nature.

WaferbabyA classic website that all should check out for all of its amusing, entertaining and thought provoking material.

Saturn CarsOnly recently have I been able to appreciate the designs of these cars, especially the new Vue.

M&#250;mI found out about this group last year, and they rool. Check out their new album right now. I mean it, now. Really.

In PassingA site devoted to conversational snippets overheard on the street or where ever. Interesting, to say the least.

Simon CowellThe main judge for American Idol, and also for the even better British series, Popstars. This man is cruel and it makes the show so much better.

Jeepers CreepersA true monster movie. No big gore scenes, no big battle scene. There are just monsters, scared kids and a lot of shadows. Oh, and Warren Cheswick is in it. If you know what that means, you rule.

Click to Add TitleA competition in Powerpoint. The site has an appropriate and clean design and the competition is heated.

Breed All About ItA newly discovered show on Animal Planet. Rommie and I like this one.

World CupSoccer is incredibly exciting. No other sport excites me the way you do, soccer.

This is a MagazineAn online (monthly) and print (quarterly) magazine that focuses on illustrations and photography, as well as art in general. A very cool issue.

TivoThank you graduation. I really do love this little gizmo.

Gilmore GirlsThe voice of this show is incredibly unique. I&apos;m going to keep watching. If you think I should do otherwise, say so in the comments.

BowlingI will now be bowling every week. Yesterday I bowled a 143. Fun times.

BurntsiennaMy friend Elizabeth redesigned her site. She knows what she&apos;s doing and keeps a nice blog. Oh, and her photos are super dooper.

Working OutAs I&apos;ve mentioned in the blog, working out is a new part of my week. Three times in fact. It&apos;s tiring, but my body will be happier.

TigerlandThis and Black Hawk Down are two of my favorite war movies released recently. My faith in Joel Schumacher is restored, since it was questioned in Bad Company.

Chile Rubbed SalmonThe best meal I&apos;ve had in a while. Additionally, it restored my faith in the restaurant from which it came.

Mandy PatinkinHis name just rolls off your tongue. I&apos;ve never heard his music, but his name is great..

PhaidonI received my second book from this amazing book publisher yesterday. They have impecible quality and content. Go them.

AirbagOne of the most elegant weblogs around these days. It&apos;s also sanctioned by Grandmaster Zeldman, so you know it must be impressive.

Other MusicThis is my favorite record store in NYC. It is right near the NYU campus and I ended up spending a lot of time there when a took a film class a few summers ago. If you&apos;re into &quot;other music&quot; you should check it out.

The Dismemberment PlanI wish my friends would stress that certain records are amazing. I just bought Change and it is amazing, really.

NetflixI will never pay late charges on movies again and that is a wonderful thing.

Football This is the best sport in the world. I love playing, virtually playing and watching it. I do love the Cubs, but I love all of football. I love you pigskin.

NPRI&apos;ve given up on commercial radio for now. Too many commercials, too much suck. So I am listening to Wisconsin Public Radio and enjoying NPR broadcasts and classical music.

Brendan BensonThanks Sleeve. This is a truly great album.

Puppies Who doesn&apos;t love puppies? Exactly.

My Har-Mar ShirtThis has been in my sister&apos;s closet for over a year. Funny thing is, I hadn&apos;t thought about it until a week ago. Craaaaaaazy..

John VandersliceWhy did it take me so long to find out about this guy? The new album is amazing. The best pop record I&apos;ve bought in the last couple years.

The Morning NewsA site that&apos;s grown on me. Their new format is great and I especially liked their recent articles on men&apos;s fashion (parts 2, 3, 4)

Four Word Film ReviewJust as the name implies. Four words. Some goodies: &quot;Love, love, fight, love.&quot; (about spiderman), &quot;Organized crime is great!&quot; (about the godfather)

Donnie DarkoA phenomenal film. Stupendous. Hot. Read my full review.

Tom WaitsHe just released two new albums, &quot;Alice&quot; and &quot;Blood Money.&quot; Both are great, I prefer Alice.

WitoldReidel.com No relation to Sleeve, but this guy has some really good photos. I&apos;m still feeling out the writing though.

God-ManAn incredibly accurate depiction of the Israel-Palistine conflict, in comic form. Funny too.

Getting SickOne would think this is bad. Truth is, it is bad until I&apos;ve passed the peak, because I only get really sick once every 1.5 years. My snot is leaving me and it&apos;s nice.

My SisterIt&apos;s her birthday and she has a weblog now. Way to go Quamazon.

Morr MusicA record label based in Germany that has a bunch of hot melodic techno artists like Isanand M&#252;m.

BlackaliciousI forgot how much I love this group. Thank you to Nathin Rabin, via dobsplatt, for reminding me the new album came out. It is amazing.

The FaceThis is officially my new favorite magazine. Their interviews are amazing, layout is great and it&apos;s British. How could you go wrong?

Harrumph!I&apos;ve been checking this site for a while, but I&apos;ve finally learn to truly appreciate it. Breathtaking photography and always entertaining banter.

Wilco at 13I love that Yankee Foxtrot Hotel made it to #13 on the Billboard chart. If any album deserves to shove it back in their old label&apos;s face, it&apos;s this one.

iPodI&apos;ve been playing with my new toy for a few weeks now and it is the best mp3 player ever. Way to go Apple.

Zulkey.comI just found this weblog through Flak and it is consistently entertaining. Lots of humor, lots of good times.

ParadigmMy new speakers. Hear their wrath. What does that mean? Anyway, they were an amazing purchase.

Chicago CubsThey have started slow, but once the hitting comes around it&apos;s going to be a good year. I can&apos;t wait to go to a game.

GraduationIt&apos;s about time. College is so 2001.

K10KThe long-gone design portal has returned and not a day too soon. I still love this site.

The OsbournesThe best thing on MTV in as long as I can remember. I am no longer ashamed to to watch a reality-based tv show.

Six Feet UnderHBO is doing things right. This series is one the main reasons I watch tv.

What Do I Know?A blog from a really good designer who always has poignant things to say. I especially like his analysis of the design world.

The Promise RingPeople claim their new album sounds like Wilco. It does and it is off the heezy.

CaliforniaI will be heading to this western state over spring break and I am ridiculously anxious. I&apos;ll be seeing the grandparents and visiting a college with my sister.

Office v.XMicrosoft claims it is the best version of Office available for any platform. Damn skippy.

dooce.comAnother weblog. The author recently got fired because of her blog and there&apos;s been some interesting discourse. Also, she is entertaining in a non-work related way.

PHP &amp; MySQLA lovely combination of technologies that has consumed my life this weekend.

SpringProbably my favorite season. I love watching everything bloom and people come out of winter depression (note: link is absurd)

Sony PEG-NR70A PDA nearing release from Sony that is just a work of art. One of the coolest looking digital devices I have seen. It&apos;s usefulness, along with all PDAs, is still being deliberated.
