Fontline Battles.
October 23, 2001
Fontline Battles. Okay, so I stole the headline from the article I'm about to reference, but who really cares. This weekend's Chicago Reader has an article critiquing the relatively new design of the Chicago Tribune. I know, it doesn't seem all that different. Well, it's not, but she explains why and interviews a bunch of people who know stuff. The main reason is that the Tribune has a bunch of stuffy old men in the news room who didn't want things to change too much. Granted, I wouldn't want a massive overhaul but I would have liked a fresher-looking masthead. This one is classic, but needs to be modernized a bit.
Anyway, read the article and tell me what you think.
