Getting a show here
 

What you should know

 
Here's some information you may find useful. During the academic year (late August to early May), we book Friday and Saturday evenings at both Memorial Union and Union South. Thursdays at Memorial Union ar reserved for our Open Mic night. During the summer (early June to early August), we book Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings at Memorial Union only. Open Mic is moved to Wednesdays during this time. All of our shows are free and open to UW students, faculty, staff, members of the University community, military personnel in uniform, and guests of any of the aforementioned.

Due to the sheer amount of shows we book per year, our budgets are different from other colleges and universities. While some only book a few large-scale events over the course of an academic year, we do so much free programming that it is difficult for us to accomodate enormous artist fees. In some cases, we can organize ticketed events, but for the most part, we concentrate on free weekend programming. In other words, if you're putting together a tour with $50,000 artist fees, we probably can't help you out (although we may be able to point you in the right direction).

Our committee is entirely student-run, so you'll want to get in touch with one of our committee members. It's helpful to remember the name of who you talk to--our committee often features a lot of members, and it can get confusing for both us and you if you're constantly talking to different committee members.

It's very likely that you'll need to send us some promo material. We'd definitely prefer it. In particular you may want to send music and contact information, but also things like bios, press clips, photos, et cetera.

Unfortunately, due to University and State regulations, we cannot provide lodging and food requests.
